They're Cool and... they're Kids!

Saíram fresquinhos e ainda a cheirar a impressão os vários livros que compõem o projecto do manual escolar New Cool Kids - Inglês 6º Ano lançado pela Texto Editores.
Foi um longo projecto que muito tempo consumiu, mas uma experiência muito enriquecedora a vários níveis. Tive ainda o privilégio (e a salvação) de poder trabalhar com a minha boa amiga e parceira noutros projectos :} A Rá não só se encarregou de colorir os meus desenhos de forma exímia como ainda criou na totalidade algumas ilustrações complexas de edifícios e plantas de cidade. Não teria conseguido fazer este trabalho sem ela. Uma experiência a repetir, sem dúvida ;P
Um abraço também para a Andreia, uma excelente profissional e coordenadora de projecto, com a qual tive igualmente o privilégio de trabalhar.

Here it is! My latest work is done! (yes, the sneak peak)
Had the chance to explore some techniques with the wacom tablet, some shadows could be better (still a bit afraid) but I'm happy with the result, though. And hey! Black & White again!!
I'm not against color, don't get me wrong, but I really enjoy it! :}

Tudo começou assim: http://bongop-leituras-bd.blogspot.com/2011/04/desafio-zakarella.html juntamente com um simpático e "diabólico" convite pessoal para participar no desafio ao qual não consegui resistir.

Já há muito tempo que não pegava em graffite e em papel cavalinho (sim, mesmo aquele amarelo com o cavalo)! Foi bom matar saudades dos materiais e confirmar o meu gosto por desenhar monocromaticamente, tive vontade de também matar o polvo a certa altura, mas cheguei ao fim! (o que nem sempre acontece devido à minha preguiça... =_=')

What Shall I Post...?

Hi there!

I can see there are some followers to this blog, although I find it strange, not that I think you kind people are strange, but I just wouldn't follow THIS blog...

Nonetheless, I thank you for your attention and patience (I don't post that offten). But if you follow this blog it means somehow you are interested on what I do and post here, so I've got a question for you.

I'm posting here a sketch of human anatomy that I've done - also on a break of work - because I've got nothing interesting to post... And that's why I'm asking you, followers of the blog and those who just pass by, what should I post here? Should I post just the stuff I might think that are somehow interesting (well, sorta...), or shall I post these kind of doodles too?

Back to life with scars

Yes I'm alive!

It's true I'm back now, and what a way to be back!... The reason to have been gone, always the same... work, work, work... I'm not complaining, though, in these days and in this country I'm fortunate to have a "job".
Well, anyway, this drawing pretty much explains what happened. My crazy cat Nemui scratched my face away! All because he is very nervous and I took an abandoned kitten into my home. I'm so stupid I forgot and I acted like everything was normal and kissed his belly (something I sometimes do). Bad time to have done it...
The kitty has a new home already (yei!!) And I have new marks on my face... (in the picture I'm thinking he's a fatso)

Hi there!

This post goes directly in english, since I'm too lazy to write in both languages...

Well, this time here it is, one piece between works. Yep, I'm already on a new job, which is nice, yeah, but I hope to advance on some personal projects as well!

What can I say... me and my best friend are very into playing games and when so, we tend to bet things, just to make it more fun. The only thing is, I tend to lose a lot. I mean A LOT! (and yet I keep playing and betting with her... damn my positivity! I'm allways thinking I can beat her one day!)

This time (as most of the times) she won a drawing. I have a lot more to do also... I gess I can thank her for keeping me practicing!

Notícias atrasadas...

Uma pessoa distrai-se e vai-se a ver e já passou mais de um mês desde o último post...
Bom, o tal evento até correu mais ou menos bem. Digo mais ou menos, porque apesar dos meus esforços de assistir ao evento à paisana, fui apanhada! Além de me terem posto a dar autógrafos, fui também abordada para dar entrevistas (uma delas para a TVI que felizmente acho que não chegou a passar na TV, ou assim quero eu acreditar) e pior ainda, para fotografias!...
*suspiro* Enfim... aqui estão os links das reportagens do evento!

Daqui se conclui que quando sou apanhada desprevenida fico com ar de psicopata O_O
De resto, fico muito feliz do evento ter tido alguma projecção. Isto porque quer o livro, quer a Elisabete merecem!
Para quem quiser aparecer, nos próximos dias 30 e 31 de Julho estaremos a dar autógrafos nos Jumbos de Almada e Alfragide a partir das 17h30.

Irina no Master Rali - Lançamento do livro!

Vai ser lançado o livro Irina no Master Rali, de Elisabete Jacinto, pela Plátano Editora, no dia 16 de Junho na Fnac do Colombo em Lisboa às 18h.

Este projecto manteve-me bastante ocupada nestes tempos e tive muito gosto em contribuír com as minhas ilustrações. Não só adorei o livro à partida como me identifiquei com a mensagem que transmite: que os sonhos não são para os caloiros (citação de Hércules - Disney) mas sim para quem os persegue e os encara como uma realidade alcançável com uma boa dose de determinação!

Para além disso a Elisabete é uma excelente pessoa, muito aberta e sempre disposta a ajudar, foi óptimo conhecê-la e trabalhar com ela! Só lamento não ter tido mais tempo para explorar as ilustrações e trocar ideias com a autora.

Uma história verdadeiramente inspiradora, baseada em acontecimentos reais.
